Speed, Dexterity and Endurance

Corriente are the primary breed for timed rodeo events due to their stamina and speed.

History of the breed

First introduced to the Americas in 1493, the Spanish chose the breed for their ability to withstand the ocean crossing and adapt to their new environment. Corriente cattle are descendants of the original cattle from Spain, known as Criollo. Corriente flourish in desert climates.
